Short Biography

I am a Qiushi Professor with the College of Control Science and Engineering at Zhejiang University, China. Prior to joining academia, I was a Principal Researcher with the Office of the CTO, Microsoft Azure for Operators, and the Mobility and Networking Research Group at Microsoft Research Redmond. I joined Microsoft Research after receiving Ph.D. from Zhejiang University in 2015. I was also a joint Ph.D. in the EECS Department at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

I currently serve on the editorial board of IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications and ACM Transactions on Sensor Networks, and was a member of the organizing committee and TPC of conferences, including MobiCom, MobiSys, SenSys, SEC, IPSN, Globecom, ICC, etc. I received ACM China Doctoral Dissertation Award (2/yr), IBM PhD Fellowship, and five best paper/demo awards from leading CS/EE conferences. I am a Senior Member of ACM and IEEE.

My research interests lie broadly in mobile, sensing, and networked systems, with a recent focus on topics including edge computing, video analytics (e.g., accurate and efficient video analytics platform, collaborative and continuous learning, 5G video services, etc.), and location-based systems (e.g., localization, navigation, mapping, location spoofing, etc.).
