Short Biography

I am a Qiushi Professor with the College of Control Science and Engineering at Zhejiang University, China. Prior to joining academia, I was a Principal Researcher with Microsoft Research Redmond and Microsoft Azure. I joined Microsoft Research after receiving Ph.D. from Zhejiang University in 2015. I was also a joint Ph.D. in the EECS Department at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

I currently serve on the editorial board of IEEE Trans. on Mobile Computing, IEEE Trans. on Wireless Comm., and ACM Trans. on Sensor Networks, steering committee of ACM/IEEE SenSys, and was a member of the organizing committee and TPC of several leading CS/EE conferences. I received ACM China Doctoral Dissertation Award (2/yr), IBM PhD Fellowship, MobiCom Best Community Contributions Award, and seven best paper/demo awards. I am a Senior Member of ACM and IEEE, and an IEEE ComSoc Distinguished Lecturer.

My research interests lie broadly in mobile, sensing, and networked systems, with current work on edge ML analytics (e.g., accurate and efficient video analytics, collaborative and continuous learning, 5G video services, etc.), location-based systems (e.g., localization, navigation, 3D mapping, location spoofing, etc.), and multi-agent systems.
